The United States has been a beacon for democracy, fairness, and the rule of law. Our principles are clear. They are clearly enshrined in our Constitution. And for most of my life, we have shown the world how to hold fair and open elections. We haven't forgotten how to do that. We do it every year. In districts across our entire nation. These principles still shine: integrity, nonviolence, secure voting, oversight, and trusted outcomes. Don't believe the naysayers.
I always note that my House district is approximately 20 miles from Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Democracy is foundational to the identify of Pennsylvania. Elections, fair elections, access to voting, and the legacy of peaceful transfer of power should be ingrained as the key to every benefit our country has to offer.
By signing the Principles, you're joining thousands of Americans working to protect the freedoms and democratic values we all share.
Trust starts with action, and it starts with you.
