We need both democratic rules and democratic norms. We are in deep trouble when we no longer accept those norms such as accepting voting outcomes and making challenges only through law-based processes. No one from any side gets to overturn elections based on “beliefs”. And no politician should be able to hold office that doesn’t accept the premise of this pledge,which includes standing by the oath to the constitution that every political appointee and civil servant has to make.
